In this study different methods of scaling are compared, for what concern the agreeableness and easiness in their compilation. Subject’s evaluation of a scaling instrument can considerably affect his answers, influencing aspects as concentration, interest and engagement. Reliability of results is influenced by the variability of these factors. From this point of view, the Likert scale method and the One hundred scale methods (One hundred sum and One hundred point scales) were compared. The evaluation of these instruments is generally positive. The Likert scale is preferred to the One hundred scale, to the One hundred sum scale in particular, only if the former is made up by a few items. When the Likert scale is presented in its traditional form, that is with a greater number of items, the One hundred sum scale is preferred. Finally, no differences are revealed between the two One hundred scales. It is important to notice that these judgements are seldom affected by subjects’ educational level. Therefore, the One hundred scales can be used also when the analysed sample is etherogeneous for what concerns socio-cultural dimensions.
