The changes in free energy, enthalpy, and entropy were detd. for the formation of Th(IV)-acetate complexes at 25 °C in a 1.00 M aq. perchlorate medium. All 5 complexes formed are stabilized by a large entropy gain. The marked increase in the enthalpy and entropy changes of the third complexation step was explained in terms of a coordination change.
