We report on the analysis of laser ranging data of the LAGEOS satellite from September 1983 to March 1984, using observations, from a network of fifteen laser stations, including the new Italian station near Matera. We present a reconstruction of the motion of the polar axis with a time resolution of one day over the data span and compare our solution with those independently derived by other institutions using different techniques. We finally present estimates of the baselines joining four European stations, including Matera, computed by means of a dynamic method.

Abstract

We report on the analysis of laser ranging data of the LAGEOS satellite from September 1983 to March 1984, using observations, from a network of fifteen laser stations, including the new Italian station near Matera. We present a reconstruction of the motion of the polar axis with a time resolution of one day over the data span and compare our solution with those independently derived by other institutions using different techniques. We finally present estimates of the baselines joining four European stations, including Matera, computed by means of a dynamic method.
