A review of the funded multinational investigatory and analytical projects being undertaken within the European Union designed to lead, ultimately, to the setting up of harmonised pan-European guidelines on tunnel safety. These include projects for data collection through to tunnel upgrading guidelines. The first of these projects commenced in 2001 and they are all scheduled for completion by 2006.
