Abstract

In a CDMA multi-user environment the power control is a key issue which require an accurate estimation of the Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR). In turn, the SIR estimation is affected by the accuracy of channel characterization. In this work the performance of the power control algorithm, expressed by the standard deviation of SIR from a target value, is studied taking into account the effects of a fast fading channel for the TDDCDMA system proposed for UMTS.
