EnglishField observations demonstrated that two gobiid species Amblygobius nocturnus and Valenciennea muralis have a monogamous mating system. Histological analyses showed an extreme reduction of male accessory organs relative to other gobiids in A. nocturnus, and their complete absence in V. muralis.
