Monomeric η1-allyl complexes [PtCl(C3H5)(PSR)], (PSR = Ph2P(CH2)2SR, R = Me, Ph) are rapidly converted in polar media into the η3-allyl derivatives [Pt(C3H5)(PSR)]BF4. The NMR characteristics of both types of complex are discussed.
