In the last few years we have seen on an international level an increase in the activity of war material destruction, both of conventional and special type. This was mainly due to international accordance in the matter, obsolete explosive ordinance, or sequestered material. The degree and size of these different types of materials, their danger due to hazards of explosion and fire and security involved, leads to putting their polluting properties second hand. The work refers to the technology that we adopted in a new EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) facility with safeguards to the environment, and the results obtained during tests done for optimization of the depuration system for the fumes of the combustion of energetic material. In the combustor we got formation of high specific quantity of nitrogen oxide, along with carbon dioxide, and small molecular weight organic compounds. It was confirmed that with proper plant and operational condition, different pollutants can react together reaching a high level of auto depuration.
