The aim of the paper is to highlight the peculiar antireductionism that characterizes the epistemological position of Frans Hemsterhuis with reference with optical problems. If according to Hemsterhuis the soul has a major role in relation to seeing, this is not to say that the phenomenon of vision is entirely reducible to a psychological phenomenon. Hemsterhuis' position is particularly interesting in his time for the proposal of an integration and distinction between physical, physiological and psychological approaches.

Abstract
The aim of the paper is to highlight the peculiar antireductionism that characterizes the epistemological position of Frans Hemsterhuis with reference with optical problems. If according to Hemsterhuis the soul has a major role in relation to seeing, this is not to say that the phenomenon of vision is entirely reducible to a psychological phenomenon. Hemsterhuis' position is particularly interesting in his time for the proposal of an integration and distinction between physical, physiological and psychological approaches.File in questo prodotto:
