This work presents an experimental investigation on test artefacts and procedures for evaluating the structural resolution of optical distance sensors for coordinate measurement. Several methods for determining the structural resolution, derived from different guidelines and draft standards, were tested and compared. As a result of this work, new artefacts and testing criteria that, in principle, can be used with any sensor technology were conceived and developed.

Abstract

This work presents an experimental investigation on test artefacts and procedures for evaluating the structural resolution of optical distance sensors for coordinate measurement.
