State-of-the-art techniques for inspection of textiles down to the nanometer scale

Emerging technologies are being used to add new functions to fibers based products. The desired performance often relates to the textiles behavior at their micro- to nanometer scale. A number of imaging and testing techniques, from micro- nano- technologies, are being introduced into textiles R&D, in order to develop and control new nano- manufacturing processes for textiles. This work focused on such emerging methods, which enable process control and metrology of fibers based products.
