At the Language Centre of the University of Padua, an increasing number of tests and surveys were administered online by means of the software QuestionMark Perception from 2001 to 2006. Also the expertise in developing tests and surveys acquired by staff at the Language Centre and the quality of these products improved in those years. After reviewing some general issues in online language testing, the article focuses on the main improvements achieved and provides an overview of the online testing activity which was conducted at the Language Centre between 2001 and 2006.

Abstract
