Humus forestali del Trentino. Forest humus in Trentino (Italy)

L’humus è lo strato superficiale del terreno, che condiziona la rigenerazione del bosco, lo sviluppo e la produttività delle piante. Le sostanze contenute nell’humus regolano le proprietà chimiche e fisiche del suolo, e intervengono sull’attività biologica dei vegetali influenzando la sintesi delle proteine e degli enzimi, il trasporto dei nutrienti attraverso le membrane cellulari. Qui si descrivono le forme di humus predominanti in Trentino, mettendole in relazione con i diversi tipi di suolo e con il clima.- - - - - (ABSTRACT: The humus form is the part of the topsoil strongly influenced by organic matter. The humus controls the growth and productivity of plants. The organic components of humus regulate the chemical, physical and biological soil properties, controlling the synthesis of proteins and the transfer of nutrients trough the cells’ membranes. Here the most common forest humus forms of Trentino (Italian Alpine region) are described, linking these top-soils to substrate and climate conditions. Keys for field classification are also given)
