Dimensions of the emotional lexicon

What do Amore (Love), Rabbia (Anger), Noia (Boredom), and other terms of the Italian lexicon mean? If they refer to emotions, do they do so to the same extent, or in relation to the same 'aspect' or component of the emotional experience? Can terms often listed in dictionaries as synonims be used interchangeably to refer to a given emotional quality? These and other questions were addressed in a set of 9 studies to be presented here, part of an ongoing, larger research project. A basic aim of this research project was to define (more precisely than it has been the case up to now) the Italian emotional lexicon.
