Abstract

A series of experiments were carried out in the Large Oscillating Water Tunnel of Delft Hydraulics in the end of 1993. The aim of the investigation was to study the behaviour of the sediment and water flow in the wave-current boundary layer in the sheet flow regime. Four conditions with sinusoidal waves and net currents were realized. A selected part of the new experimental data is presented. The attention is focused on vertical profiles of time-averaged and time-dependent suspended sediment concentrations and velocities as well as net sediment transport rates.
