This paper deals with a small set of appearently participle forms ending in -eto, that Umbrian language displays within the Iguvinian Tables. -eto forms are interesting since they look quite independent from the base-form of the verbs they derive from, which are only -a- verbs, short -e- verbs, and long -i- verbs. Thus, they offer a striking allomorphy, that most scholars either did not explain, or treated as a bare phonological fact. In fact, a careful textual analysis reveals that -eto forms are not true past participles, rather, they are verbal adjectives displaying a stative/resultative meaning. As a consequence, the paper claims that such formations may shed new light onto the historical development of the Indo-European stative *-eh1- morphology within the Italic languages
