Management of sediment stocks at El Masnou et Cervia Marina

Can we schedule a port dredging so that operations can be combined to nourishment works? Is the dredged sand suitable for nourishment? Is the combination of the two works effective and economic? Two combined works of dredging and sand nourishments carried out at El Masnou and at Cervia marinas are detailed, with the aim of suggesting good methods for proper management of sediment stocks. The essential role played by accurate work monitoring (and in particular regular bed and sediment surveys combined to knowledge of the wave climate) is eventually pointed out.
