It is an obvious fact that road safety depends strongly on the behaviour of the user while driving, who is responsible – on many occasions – for conditions arising of risk for traffic, with serious consequences for his personal safety and that of others. As other studies conducted on the subject have attested, the binomial “environment-safety” is one of the most important aims in road infrastructure planning: the aspects directly affecting the conservation of the minimum safety requisites for driving are the definition of the correct geometry of the axis – through evaluations of horizontal alignment consistency of the road elements – and the analysis of the visual and perceptual phenomena, which are rightly considered fundamental in the interpretation of road users’ behaviour in situations of risk. This is due to the fact that drivers’ actions are not regulated exclusively by the road geometry, but are also influenced by personal perceptions and motivations, adapting their behaviour on the basis of specific criteria. This paper describes the interim results of research into understanding the phenomenon of environmental conditioning of the user as a result of information provided by the road in the widest sense.

Abstract
This paper describes the interim results of research into understanding the phenomenon of environmental conditioning of the user as a result of information provided by the road in the widest sense.Pubblicazioni consigliate
