The paper presents the results of numerical study on the influence of two different internal curing techniques upon the strains and hygro-thermal performance of maturing concrete. The simulations are performed with the recently developed numerical model of concrete by Gawin et al. [1, 2] which is briefly presented here. The effective properties and macroscopic performance of the material are obtained by means of a proper up-scaling the solutions from the meso-level, at which we analyse behaviour of the material considering its different components. The considerations are illustrated by the numerical examples aimed at simulation of the evolution of concrete strains during maturing. The results of simulations are compared to some recently published experimental data.

Abstract
The paper presents the results of numerical study on the influence of two different internal curing techniques upon the strains and hygro-thermal performance of maturing concrete. The simulations are performed with the recently developed numerical model of concrete by Gawin et al. [1, 2] which is briefly presented here. The effective properties and macroscopic performance of the material are obtained by means of a proper up-scaling the solutions from the meso-level, at which we analyse behaviour of the material considering its different components. The considerations are illustrated by the numerical examples aimed at simulation of the evolution of concrete strains during maturing. The results of simulations are compared to some recently published experimental data.Pubblicazioni consigliate
