Abstract

After the introduction of the virial tensor theorem, as a powerful tool in order to get informations about the mean value of physical quantities along the three coordinate axes , its extension to two spheroidal homogeneous components, dark and bright, will be applied to the scale lenght of galaxies. In this way the tidal effects, described by tidal-energy tensor, due to a dark halo, on the dynamics of elliptical galaxies are taken into account, having as consequence an extensionof classical relationship among rotation and random velocities, anisotropy parameter, and ellipticity (see e.g., Binney & Tremaine 1987), at different stages of the evolution. Moreover the way in which the tidal effect of a dark halo could trigger the star formation rate during the evolution of disk galaxies, will be investigated.
