An original three-dimensional electromagnetic analysis code is used to analyse eddy currents inside thin conducting layers at low frequencies. This approach is based on an integral formulation, which requires only the active parts of the model to be discretized so that computing requirements are greatly reduced compared to commercial code s based on FEM. The developed method is successfully applied to analyse the performance of a real case ELF conducting shields in MV/LV substations. Analyses performed via this integral method show that the developed procedure can be used efficiently for industrial design purposes.

Abstract
An original three-dimensional electromagnetic analysis code is used to analyse eddy currents inside thin conducting layers at low frequencies. This approach is based on an integral formulation, which requires only the active parts of the model to be discretized so that computing requirements are greatly reduced compared to commercial code s based on FEM. The developed method is successfully applied to analyse the performance of a real case ELF conducting shields in MV/LV substations. Analyses performed via this integral method show that the developed procedure can be used efficiently for industrial design purposes.File in questo prodotto:
