The paper presents the results of an experimental program carried out to investigate the fatigue damage evolution of co-cured stepped lap joints, with the aim to evaluate the influence of some design parameters, namely ply overlap length, lay-up and stress level, on the delamination growth rate. The analysis of the results allowed us to identify the average delamination length as a damage parameter suitable to describe and quantify the fatigue damage evolution in this type of connection.

Abstract
The paper presents the results of an experimental program carried out to investigate the fatigue damage evolution of co-cured stepped lap joints, with the aim to evaluate the influence of some design parameters, namely ply overlap length, lay-up and stress level, on the delamination growth rate. The analysis of the results allowed us to identify the average delamination length as a damage parameter suitable to describe and quantify the fatigue damage evolution in this type of connection.File in questo prodotto:
