The paper presents the application of NDT and MDT for the diagnosis of masonry walls in historical constructions. In particular, sonic tomographies and flat-jack tests have been considered for the analysis of the masonry morphology and of its state of conservation on two cases study, namely the main façades of two churches located in Padua (Italy). Results allowed to detect the main deficiencies of the walls and to characterize the mechanical properties of the masonry. FE models were thus calibrated in order to plan proper measures of intervention and monitoring.

Abstract
The paper presents the application of NDT and MDT for the diagnosis of masonry walls in historical constructions. In particular, sonic tomographies and flat-jack tests have been considered for the analysis of the masonry morphology and of its state of conservation on two cases study, namely the main façades of two churches located in Padua (Italy). Results allowed to detect the main deficiencies of the walls and to characterize the mechanical properties of the masonry. FE models were thus calibrated in order to plan proper measures of intervention and monitoring.File in questo prodotto:
