Abstract

This work deals with the self-calibration of a highprecision mechanism controlled in open-loop. The method, applied to a mechanical shutter for space application which will be lauched onboard the ROSETTA mission (launch time february 2004), is based on an adaptive ‘model reference’ and a ‘randomized’ search method that can be generalized to applications where high performances and functionality have strong inter-connections.
