Sixty rabbits were fed 4 experimental diets (starch: 22, 17, 21 and 16%DM; crude fibre: 14, 17, 13 and 16% DM; crude fat: 3, 3, 5 and 5% DM), from 39 to 61 days of age, and a standard fattening diet, from 61 to 80 days. High-starch and added-fat diets determined higher DM digestibility, lower feed intake and betetr feed conversion. At both 61 and 80 days of age, slaughter data and carcass quality did not differ. Higher starch content increate ammonia-N and valerate concentrations (at 61 days) and total VFA concentration (at 80 days) in the caecal content.

Abstract
Sixty rabbits were fed 4 experimental diets (starch: 22, 17, 21 and 16%DM; crude fibre: 14, 17, 13 and 16% DM; crude fat: 3, 3, 5 and 5% DM), from 39 to 61 days of age, and a standard fattening diet, from 61 to 80 days. High-starch and added-fat diets determined higher DM digestibility, lower feed intake and betetr feed conversion. At both 61 and 80 days of age, slaughter data and carcass quality did not differ. Higher starch content increate ammonia-N and valerate concentrations (at 61 days) and total VFA concentration (at 80 days) in the caecal content.File in questo prodotto:
