The Authors selected adolescents coming to the outpatients' department they work in, for age, sex, problems presented and some other characteristics. Data from the clinical study of two case records are presented, compared and discussed. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the outcome of the two groups, following the application of different settings. The most interesting result is that both the right flexibility in approaching adolescents and the major space offered to the their parents in the second group of adolescent as compared to the first group seem to improve the outcome in terms of acknowledgement of an emotional disease and of the commitment to further psychological help.
