The Workshop on Kernel Functions and Meshless Methods, Honoring the 65th Birthday of Prof. Robert Schaback, was held January 14-15, 2011, at the University of Goettingen. The goal of the organizers was to bring together collaborators, colleagues and students of Prof. Robert Schaback who took part in the development of kernel-methods in all areas of scientific computing and numerical analysis. We believe that this goal was achived. The workshop was attended by more than 50 mathematicians who have accompanied Robert Schaback in different periods of his life.
