Some families face strong vulnerability due to various factors such as personal and familiar history, poverty, isolation, etc. In such situations, the ability of parents to take care of their children can be limited. In Italy, in order to support vulnerable families, and particularly negligenting ones, home care interventions are widespread. However, the effectiveness of this kind of intervention has not been yet evaluated. This article reports the results of research-training-intervention project that involved 12 educators and 18 negligent families for an intervention period of 12 months. The evaluation allowed identifying the key factors in fostering the adaptation of these families.
