This report is based on the major research on mosque conflicts in Europe ever, conducted and coordinated by the author, thanks to a financement from the NEF (Network of European Foundations), a network of the most important private foundations of Europe. The report analyzes a wide range of conflicts over mosques, collecting data on mosques themselves in fourteen countries of Europe (seven of which have been researched empirically by local researchers coordinated by the author and on the basis of specific guidelines offered), and offering the best updated synthesis (included statistically) available on the subject. In particular the report analyzes at several levels the conflicts on mosques: intra-Muslim dynamics, inter-ethnic divisions, the role of institutional, political, bureaucratic, religious and socila actors, the role of mediatization and intellectual legitimization of conflict. In the concluding part, current trends and examples of best practices are highlited, proposing also a wider frame of interpretation of such conflicts
