The electromagnetic behavior is analyzed of a rotating screen system in a superconducting generator under transient conditions. The calculation method is based on integration of Laplace-transformed diffusion equation applied to the effective thickness of the shielding elements and valid for any number of cylinders making up the system. With reference to a 1300 MVA three-phase two-pole generator, the response to a step-form variation of stator magnetic field is given.
