The adhesion between oral implants and bone tissue is essential in order to ensure the mechanical fixity of the implants and their biomechanical functionality over time. The continuity between implant and bone through the implant surface depends on several factors, some of mechanical nature. Since the experimental investigation of these mechanical phenomena is extremely complex, the adoption of numerical methods and computer simulation of the mechanical behaviour of the bone-implant compound is of interest, since it makes it possible to evaluate a wide range of possible conditions characterising the system over the short and long term. At this purpose, it is presented a numerical simulation of the interaction between implant and bone, which includes a refined modelling of the mechanical conditions at the bone implant interface.

Abstract
The adhesion between oral implants and bone tissue is essential in order to ensure the mechanical fixity of the implants and their biomechanical functionality over time. The continuity between implant and bone through the implant surface depends on several factors, some of mechanical nature. Since the experimental investigation of these mechanical phenomena is extremely complex, the adoption of numerical methods and computer simulation of the mechanical behaviour of the bone-implant compound is of interest, since it makes it possible to evaluate a wide range of possible conditions characterising the system over the short and long term. At this purpose, it is presented a numerical simulation of the interaction between implant and bone, which includes a refined modelling of the mechanical conditions at the bone implant interface.Pubblicazioni consigliate
