The paper proposes some reflections about the relationships between Artificial Intelligence and Measurement Science. The measurement process is made up of a variety of activities where the participation of an intelligent entity is an essential constituent. AI can propose methods and techniques to model intelligent behaviours and reproduce them in machine form. An overview is given of some of the questions related to the introduction of AI methodologies in the treatment of measurement problems; whenever possible, reference is made to relevant works.
