New classes of biologically active Pt(II)-based drugs can be prepared from the organonitrile Pt(II) complexes cis- and trans-[PtCl2(NCR)2] (R = alkyl, aryl) by taking advantage of their ability to undergo nucleophilic addition of alcohols, amines and thiols at the C≡N triple bond to afford iminoether, amidine and iminothioether derivatives, respectively. The configuration of the reaction products can be either Z or E corresponding to the trans or cis addition of the H-YR' (Y = O, N, S; R’ = alkyl) protic nucleophile along the C≡N triple bond, respectively.

Abstract
New classes of biologically active Pt(II)-based drugs can be prepared from the organonitrile Pt(II) complexes cis- and trans-[PtCl2(NCR)2] (R = alkyl, aryl) by taking advantage of their ability to undergo nucleophilic addition of alcohols, amines and thiols at the C≡N triple bond to afford iminoether, amidine and iminothioether derivatives, respectively. The configuration of the reaction products can be either Z or E corresponding to the trans or cis addition of the H-YR' (Y = O, N, S; R’ = alkyl) protic nucleophile along the C≡N triple bond, respectively.File in questo prodotto:
