The G8 summit in Genoa has been an unprecedented media event. All media of the world have talked about demonstrations and violent clashes. Although have concluded most important trials, G8 in Genoa remains an open wound for Italian society, still in crisis putting ideas of democracy and civil living together. And after "war on the ground", in Italy today we are witnessing "war of memories". Within a broader research, we present the main results obtained by analysing participants’ reports in the G8, to understand theirs representations of the event, with particular attention to metaphors of war in an urban context. Through the textual data, developed by software Atlas-ti, will show how the idea of police forces as "inner enemy" stick to these representations, helping to explain the current "war of memories" and as such this enemy continues to remain on the ground even after the end of the battle.
