The present conditions in which industrial and design organisations operate are accountable for the increasing interest in the aware and coherent utilisation of geometric tolerancing. Starting from a presentation of the current situation of relevant standards, in this paper some remarks on needed improvements and possible evolution of such regulations will be made in order to identify more and more suitable solutions to the new demands.
