The paper reports the methods and results of two sets of field data aiming to record the in-field structural behaviour of skis under bending and torsion in slalom courses. The experimental system consists of a couple of strain gauged skis prepared and calibrated in laboratory [1], two inertial platforms enabling to measure the ski orientation, a set of accelerometers and EMG electrodes on the tester’s leg. Three professional testers were involved, different for skill levels and anthropometrics, and special slalom and giant slalom courses were performed in the study. As a results, the instantaneous bending and torsion moment curves on the ski were evaluated, the deflected shape in the ski was evaluated, projected onto the snow surface and visualized in each frame of the snow field: quantitative index were introduced to compare the inner and outer ski during the courses.
