Engineered timber-based elements used nowadays in timber buildings are based on various types of structural adhesives. The adhesives have to fulfil many requirements; among others they must not unduly reduce strength and stiffness of an element. Also the creep properties and performance at elevated temperatures must be taken into account. To ensure safe and durable glued joints and products (buildings), European standards are focused on a given set of requirements.

Abstract
