This study aims to describe the use of Knowles’ model of Learning Contract with graduate students in a Master of Science Degree Program in Continuing Education. The important characteristics identified by the students engaged in using Knowles’ Learning Contract help instructor to understand how better apply this instrument in class. The content analysis of the student’s opinions collected with a questionnaire and an on line discussions forum permit to identify three aspects that improve students’ learning. Using LC in an academic class helps student to perform a more active role, to increase reflection on the learning process, and to cooperate with peers and instructor.
