Working on the single cells represents an important step for the study of living organisms, so that several new technologies and methodologies have been developed in these years with this aim. In this work we show an accurate equivalent electrical model of the interface between a living cultured cell and a biochip consisting in an array of microelectrodes. By coupling it with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements, it is possible to quantitatively correlate cell health and membrane morphology.

Abstract
