Introduction

The focus on the analysis of the International Forum for Rural Development in Somalia concerns the assessment of different conditions regarding land management and environment, rural handicrafts, basic health and hygiene, rural education and training, and local institutions and governance. These different development opportunities are strongly reduced by the socio-political situation. The activities of International organizations such as IFAD are consequently presented, describing the strategy and the perspectives proposed in relation to Somalia's rural development.
