Stochastic timed Petri net modelling language is a powerful tool for the event, driven uncertain process simulation. The present paper applies such a tool to the industrial context revising a stepwise approach to support practitioners in the design and dynamic simulation of the manufacturing and assembly activities. An application based on a semi-automatic assembly line is, further, presented to exemplify the approach use and to demonstrate its flexibility and strengths. Abstract
