The policy of memory adopted publicly by the institutional agencies was, and still is, based on a will to “turn the page”, symbolically and physically trying to remove the traces of those events. Conversely the demonstrators’ action at that time and the committees born later are aimed at contrasting oblivion and taking care of the wounded places. A conflict between the will to forget and the will to remember that continues to mark the Italian collective life in post G8. Here we analyze the psychosocial process that have affected the Diaz School after the night called “Mexican Butcher”.
