Since the 1970s, large irrigation schemes have been developed along the Nigerian banks of the lake. Chad Basin Development Authority(CBDA) had planned two polders of 20,000ha each in Baga Kawa and Kirinowa, and to create the South Chad irrigation Project (SCIP) around Marte (67,000ha). The Kirinowa polder has not been realized and the other two projects have only been partially implemented because of significant obstacles due to the shift to the Small Chad state.

Abstract
Since the 1970s, large irrigation schemes have been developed along the Nigerian banks of the lake. Chad Basin Development Authority(CBDA) had planned two polders of 20,000ha each in Baga Kawa and Kirinowa, and to create the South Chad irrigation Project (SCIP) around Marte (67,000ha). The Kirinowa polder has not been realized and the other two projects have only been partially implemented because of significant obstacles due to the shift to the Small Chad state.File in questo prodotto:
