Who are children and young people according to the news on television? What does the news concerning them talk about? Do minors have an effective right to speak up about matters that concern them or are the adults to speak for them? In short: what is the shared culture of childhood and adolescence that is conveyed by the media? And furthermore, what is the role of the media in these processes? In this article, we will try to answer these questions by analyzing media representations of minors disseminated by local television stations in the Veneto region.
