We present a synthesis of the results of an extensive UBVI photometric study performed on a group of 14 fields located in the third quadrant of our galaxy; aimed at establishing the properties of its stellar population and the degree of agreement with two of the most important theoretical models of the Milky Way: Besançon and TRILEGAL. The individual properties of the observed stars in each field were derived by applying a software developed in-house which allows user input and condenses well established techniques of astrophysical analysis.
