The NFS is a prominent natural example of the classic Riedel strike-slip shear model. The contractional step-overs along the E-W (PDZ) faults are usually associated with folds and sometimes with basement uplifts. These structures are located at the intersection with NE to ENE structures, interpreted as pervasive basement fabrics of Arabian-Nubian shield reactivated as inland transform faults of the Red Sea. At a regional scale, this trend not only controls the Nubian fault segmentation but also the alignment of the restraining bends.

Abstract
The NFS is a prominent natural example of the classic Riedel strike-slip shear model. The contractional step-overs along the E-W (PDZ) faults are usually associated with folds and sometimes with basement uplifts. These structures are located at the intersection with NE to ENE structures, interpreted as pervasive basement fabrics of Arabian-Nubian shield reactivated as inland transform faults of the Red Sea. At a regional scale, this trend not only controls the Nubian fault segmentation but also the alignment of the restraining bends.File in questo prodotto:
