In his autobiography Gandhi described his own search for truth which lead him to the Moksha from an ethical and religious point of view. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the pedagogical features of this text: they outline a new kind of school, valid for both East and West, whose purpose is not only to educate, but also to build and develop one's personality.
