In the programming period 2007-2013 none of the farmers in the territory of the LAG Prealpi Dolomiti (Italy) applied to the measure 321 “Basic services for the economy and rural population” and the action 1 “social services”. Consequently the purpose of this exploratory research is to contribute to understand: (i) the socio-economic features of agricultural entrepreneurs who are willing to start a project of SF, (ii) the perceived benefits and problems. The assessment of these elements will allow to identify threats and opportunities to be considered in order to enhance the participation of farmers in SF in the programming period 2014-2020.
