The elements discussed, indicative, though not systematic, corroborate the conclusions drawn from recent studies on the liturgical and musical repertory in use in Padua and in the Venetian area in the Middle Ages. In fact, texts and intonations for the Palm Sunday Procession show that: 1. the repertory was the same as the international one, and its peculiarities do not seem to support the hypothesis of a liturgy with an independent origin from the ordo romanus; 2. the hypothesis of a liturgical subordination of Padua to Aquileia is not acceptable; when repertories are not consistent, self-ruled decisions should be presumed; 3. the modus vetus, repeatedly mentioned by the oldest liturgical and musical sources of Padua together with the historiographical tradition, does not address the alleged “rito patriarchino”, yet it conforms to Roman-Franco rite; 4. textual and musical peculiarities, which outlasted the Roman-Franciscan abbreviatio, are precisely the expression of this origin.

Abstract
The elements discussed, indicative, though not systematic, corroborate the conclusions drawn from recent studies on the liturgical and musical repertory in use in Padua and in the Venetian area in the Middle Ages. In fact, texts and intonations for the Palm Sunday Procession show that: 1. the repertory was the same as the international one, and its peculiarities do not seem to support the hypothesis of a liturgy with an independent origin from the ordo romanus; 2. the hypothesis of a liturgical subordination of Padua to Aquileia is not acceptable; when repertories are not consistent, self-ruled decisions should be presumed; 3. the modus vetus, repeatedly mentioned by the oldest liturgical and musical sources of Padua together with the historiographical tradition, does not address the alleged “rito patriarchino”, yet it conforms to Roman-Franco rite; 4. textual and musical peculiarities, which outlasted the Roman-Franciscan abbreviatio, are precisely the expression of this origin.Pubblicazioni consigliate
