Abstract
Despite the absence of a systematic theory of justice in his thought and despite his belonging to a historical and cultural context that was deeply different from ours, Augustine of Hippo (354-430) presents in his numerous writings many considerations that may be interesting for a reflection on current issues related to justice in the public sphere. This article briefly examines five themes: the relationship between justice and the state, the figure of the judge, death penalty, war, and legitimate defense.File in questo prodotto:
